The Silverwood

This guitar was a piece of Honduran mahogany that I’d decided to make a super dark Telecaster with. But I was never happy with the color, and after a few years I got fed up with it and almost gave it away. But then I got the idea to strip it and see what effects we could achieve. The original dark color stayed in the pores of the wood while the new light blue slightly tinted the flat. I used a wipe-on polyurethane as a clear coat which gives it the signature “shimmer”. It also has a comfort carve arm and belly contour. Neck is Fender style maple with a maple fretboard. Wilkinson hardware, Bootstrap “Palo Duro” pickups and no guard (don’t want to cover that pretty silver!).
